Teaching Philosophy - A two-page statement about my personal teaching philosophy. Using an example from an early course that I taught on postmodernism, I discuss how connecting my research and teaching is at the core of my perspective on teaching.
Dissertation Abstract - A one-page description of my dissertation, focusing on the overall structure, what is at stake in the questions being asked within it, and what I hope to do with it in the future.
Writing Sample: Smith - An early version of an essay that went on to be published in Zadie Smith: Critical Essays. In it, I discuss the tension between the postmodernist ideas in Smith's fiction and the modernist structures through which she presents them.
Writing Sample: Joyce - A revision of a dissertation chapter in which I discuss Joyce's involvement in the initial publication of Ulysses.
