Our Goals
By the end of the quarter you should:
- have a usable understanding of the growth of earlier communication technologies in America and be able to use this understanding to assess the influence of key technologies, media representation, corporate engagement, and government support in the overall growth of the Web/Internet in America
- have general sense of the taxonomy of Web/Internet cultures, their relative size, their rate of growth, their potential to attract attention to the Web, their economic significance, and their potential to affect the overall growth if the Web/Internet
- be aware of the major Web counting organizations, their methodology/technology, their focus, and their accuracy
