Founded in 1993, the journal explores the relations of literature and the arts to the sciences and technology.

The Sidney M. Edelstein Center at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was established in 1980 to encourage advanced research in the history and philosophy of science, technology, and medicine. In particular, the Center fosters research based on the resources of the Einstein Archive, the Quantum Archive, the Edelstein collections on the history of dyeing and chemical technology, and the Yahuda Theological Collection of Isaac Newton.

Students are encouraged to reflect on the benefit of the artifacts they produce, as well as on how this new technology affects society and relationships between individuals.
