Georgia Institute of Technology

I obtained a doctorate in Performance Studies from Northwestern University in 2007, producing a dissertation that investigated the use of digital media in performing arts curriculums at the post-secondary level. In 2006, I was named a Researcher-in-Residence by the Daniel Langlois Foundation of Montreal , allowing me to examine the personal archives of Sonia Landy Sheridan, a pioneering technological arts educator. At Georgia Tech I teach composition courses that explore the relationship between live performance and digital mediation.  I also serve as Co-Primary Investigator of a NSF-funded study having to do with human creativity and artificial intelligence, and am a member of another research team testing new theories of performance in virtual environments. Recently, I was elected to the Board of Directors of two Atlanta-based arts organizations: Dad’s Garage Theatre Company and the Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center .
