Foreword

The Literature, Communication, and culture LCC software and hardware analysis project has been both a challenge and enlightening experience. Fortunately the class has remained intact through the completion of this project. Teamwork was the most important ingredient to the successful completion of the proposed new software and hardware. At the minimum, many people's hours were spent on the job and most important, almost all group members were present at the majority of the group meetings. This collaboration resulted in many different viewpoints and opinions, which has resulted in the proposal of the software and hardware analysis for the school of Literature, Communication, and Culture (LCC).

The development of this project was not always a rosy one. There were slight troubles that we as class had to overcome. Initially it started with many groups, but soon it was formed in to four groups. Those groups are existing software group, hardware group, department need group, and potential software. The other problems that some of the team members of the groups had was understanding what his/her responsibility was in order to do the project. However, as the quarter went along it became clear. One of the things we did to pursue our project was interviewing faculty members, graduate students, and STAC students. We got a lot of feedback from them. From the information we gathered through interviews we were able to understand what kind of software and hardware the Literature, Communication, and culture LCC department has and what the department needs. And each group had been able to analyze their part.

We would like to express our sincerest thanks to all the people who took the time to give us the information we need. Without their help it would have been hard to complete this project. Also we like to thank everyone who made our project possible. We thank Dr. Herrington for give us the opportunity to learn how to analyze the software and hardware for the School of Literature, Communication, and Culture (LCC).
