annotated bibliography

You will provide individually developed annotated bibliographies that you will use to support your work in your research projects that you will pursue throughout the semester. The annotated bibliography must include an introduction and conclusion and must reflect effective typography choice, text treatment, and document design. A minimum of 30 sources is required and must be submitted in hard copy format, but maintained in digital form to be used later for completing your work on your research.

source compilation
Your annotated bibliography must be composed of credible sources relating to your chosen topic. These sources can come from books, hard copy articles, web-based materials, films, music, or art, but must be directly supportive of your research goals.

introduction
The introduction should indicate the nature of your source compilation--the characteristics of the sources that motivate you to bring them together--and their intended use. Indicate the categories of significance about your topic and explain the reason(s), if any for your separating them into sections with similar properties. If you separate your sources into categories, you should note the categories in your introduction and explain how the bibliography is organized.

Your category separations may be based on the significance of time periods in which the sources appear, on general subject matter, geographical or cultural distinctions, etc.

annotations
You must isolate each source in your annotated bibliography by listing the citation, then providing the annotation below it, and separating each one with white space.

The annotation does not need to be longer than 2 or 3 sentences, but must indicate the general content of the source, its quality, and its usefulness for your research.

conclusion
The conclusion should sum up the importance of the sources you compile for the work you plan to do. It should indicate the significance of the categories you used in compiling the sources and point out any overall trend(s) indicated by your compilation. Explain the major areas of importance for the categories of research in your topic area, pointing out trends in direction in the research you've found. Also, note any gaps in the research that work on your topic could fill.
