Welcome to my website. It is currently under construction. If you like what you see now and are curious to see the rest as it develops, please bookmark this page and check back often!
Shortly this site will have links to my professional life: current teaching activities (including resources, activities and other information for my students), research activities (both current and past), and my curriculum vitae. However, since I am not defined by profession alone this site will also include information on my favourite hobby - medieval re-enactment and research. Yes...even when I'm not researching for work, I do research! I am a research geek and proud of it! :)
I am not someone who likes to sit around idly and watch the world go by. Maybe it is a result of growing up at the cusp of GenX and GenY, or maybe it is my love of learning new things - either way, I am a busy woman who is always trying to find out new things, try new skills or share what I've learned with others. In the end, I am fascinated bythe past, present and future of technology.
It is my most fervant hope that when all is said and done, I will have lived my life as someone who has, as Leonardo da Vinci puts it, 'happened to things'.
So what's with the da Vinci quotes and drawings?
I include the da Vinci drawings because they offer a conceptual link for my research regarding the impact of new communication technology (internet, games, etc...) and my medieval re-enactment activities. The da Vinci quotes are used because I see how many of his insights apply to both my personal and professional lives.
