Overview
Dracula is a story that has spawned many new and interesting “afterlife” texts. Some of them are more obvious than others, such as the Dracula movies or anything that deals with vampires in general. However, there are some texts that one must analyze closely in order to discover their relation to Dracula.  Two texts that are on opposite sides when it pertains to how easily one can observe their “afterlifeness” are Interview with the Vampire and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Interview is more obvious because of its usage of actual vampires, but Attack of the Clones merits its definition as an afterlife text, at least on the surface, in the appearance of Count Dooku.  Dooku shares the dark garments of Dracula because in Dracula Harker states that Dracula is “clad in black from head to foot” (Stoker, Bram). Both are also erudite Counts of their lands. After one scratches the surface of both afterlife texts, one can see that both are more intertwined with Dracula than just in appearances. All three texts focus upon the breakdown of good and evil and how transformation in the texts and the breakdown of religion add to the ambiguity of good and evil in general.
