””As the program’s Assistant Director, L. Andrew Cooper helps to manage almost every aspect of Georgia Tech’s Writing and Communication Program, from designing common aspects of the curricula for English 1101, English 1102, and LCC 3403 to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Brittain Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. His research and teaching combine elements from several disciplines, including literature, film studies, rhetoric, composition, and technical communication. Much of his work focuses on the horror genre in novels and film. This focus informs many of his composition courses as well as his upper-level film courses, but his teaching includes a broad range of subjects. Most recently, he has taught technical communication for pre-health students, introduction to film, and composition for students in NROTC. In Fall 2010, he is teaching a communication-intensive film course on Italian cult horror icon Dario Argento. For more about his courses or to read about his new book, Gothic Realities: The Impact of Horror Fiction on Modern Culture, or his current book project, Dario Argento, please explore the links on this page.
