We are working with John Avery (Executive Director) and Kevin Kuharic (Preservation and Landscape manager) of the Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta to create dramatic experiences and informative tours of this historic site. Our first project is called:

The Voices of Oakland

This audio-only AR experience introduces the visitor to the history and architecture of the cemetery. Wearing headphones and carrying a portable computer and tracking device, the visitor walks among the graves and listens the voices of various historical figures. The visitor can tailor the experience to suit her interests through an optional, hand-held interface. The Voices of Oakland is a prototype created using the DART (Designers Augmented Reality Toolkit) system, which was conceived and implemented in the GVU Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
