assignment 1

One website I visit regularly is Albino Blacksheep. This site is primarily known for displaying the latest and funniest Flash animations, games, and videos. However, it also houses a wealth of knowledge for developers, programmers, and other people who want to do more with their computer than was originally intended. There are tutorials on Flash, HTML, Photoshop, and other computer-related subjects. Albino Blacksheep therefore serves two purposes: it is a great way to kill time when there is nothing else to do, and it is a very informative site dealing with advanced computer usage. A very simple interface is used on this site; each type of media is categorized for easy finding, and the most recent files are posted on the main page. There is also a search function to find the really old files. While Albino Blacksheep is well-known as a veritable goldmine of silly and inane videos and such, but the maintainers of the site are slowly pushing to focus a bit more on developer-related material.

The other website I visit a lot are the Anything Boards. The AB is a forum created and maintained by a friend of mine, which is used for discussing just about everything there is to talk about. There are sections related to Georgia Tech, the good things in life, the bad things in life, and everything in between. While the interface may be a bit daunting to the uninitiated, it is actually very easy to find what you are looking for. Topics with new posts are highlighted by special icons, and you can even jump to the newest post straight from the main page. Users can create profiles with information, and can upload avatars (small images that represent the user and/or their personality).
