Project 2: Inform Game
The Last Days
by Colman Bryant
This story is set in an abandoned town that will soon be eliminated by nuclear war. The actual interactive part of the story takes place, particularly, in an old, abandoned missile silo on the edge of town that the main character happens to know contains an underground fallout shelter. The goal is to get into the underground shelter, and possibly stock up on a few useful items along the way.
I wanted to make a story with a relevant theme and a tone that will, ideally, make that theme stand out a little better. Hopefully the player comes out of it feeling a little less inclined to go wage a war.

Walkthrough: SPOILER ALERT****
The game opens with you having just arrived at the silo. You enter by traveling east, passing through an entry corridor eastward into a central room. On the east wall is a door leading to the missile storage area (long since emptied in the early days of the war). To the south is a control room, and to the north is a kitchen. Go south first into the control room. Inspect the levers and you'll find a key. Take the key.
Next go north two rooms into the kitchen. Check the refrigerator. Pick up the pickle jar ('jar') and baking soda ('soda') for extra points. Unlock the stairway door with the key you found in the control room. Continue north into the bedroom. Feel free to look around. Check the dresser for some blankets, which will come in useful later on. Also, make sure and grab the keycard off the bedside counter. This is necessary to access the underground shelter. For some extra points, go East into the bathroom and find and take the book on the hamper.
Return to the kitchen. Open and go through the Eastern door into the stairwell. Go 'down' to the hallway. At the end of the hallway is the fallout door. You'll need to unlock the door with the keycard you found in the bedroom. Once you do so, enter the bunker. In order to complete the game, you must go to the mat and examine it. This will result in you lying down to take a rest - sleep well.
If you've collected all the good items (the pickle jar, baking soda, blankets, and book), you should have scored the full 12/12 points.
