The Writing and Communication Program supports three annual awards:


2008-2009 Award Winners

The Brittain Fellow and the student winners of these remarkable creativity and competence awards in 2008-2009 are :

 

  • Writing and Communication Program Award for Excellence in WOVEN Communication in English 1101/English 1102: Anthony Hotle, Colin Lehman, Nicole Markwith, Russell Ralston, and Tyler Woodhouse created their winning website, “Food in Atlanta,” as part of their work in English 1101–The Technologies of Travel, Fall 2008. Course instructor: Jennifer Parrott

  • Writing and Communication Program Award for Excellence in WOVEN Communication in LCC 3401: Azhar Bande-Ali, Corey Steward, Andrew Dickerson, Robert Williams, and Daniel Shay, “Defining the Elements of Design,” as part of their work in LCC 3401, Technical Communication for Computer Science and Video Game Engineers, Spring 2009. Course instructor: Dr. Danielle Lawson

  • Writing and Communication Program Award for Excellence in Pedagogy: Dr Melissa Graham Meeks

  • Writing and Communication Program Award for Multimodal Innovation: Dr.Matthew Paproth

  • Best WOVEN Communication Project, Individual or Collaborative: "Music and Politics" website by Bill Panfel, Nick Hudak, Pete Marascalchi, Cody Fortune, and Rob Griffin for English 1102 course. Course instructor: Dr.Matthew Paproth

  • Writing and Communication Program Award for Excellence in Pedagogy: Dr.Daniel Vollaro

  • Writing and Communication Program Award for Excellence in Multimodal Communication: Dr.Andrea Wood


Undergraduate students and Brittain Fellows are encouraged to apply each semester for these annual awards.


These awards are presented in April of each year at the Young Awards Dinner, sponsored by the School of Literature, Communication and Culture.
