READMISSION POLICY

Students applying to the STAC program for readmission must comply with the Georgia Tech requirements for readmission found at http://www.catalog.gatech.edu/rules/8b.php

In addition, returning STAC students must have completed ENGL 1101* and ENGL 1102 with an average grade of 3.0 or above.

For the purposes of this evaluation AP credit is assessed as 3.0 and transfer credit is assessed according to the transcript from the institution at which the equivalent courses were taken.

Under some medical circumstances, the STAC Coordinator or STAC Advisors may grant a waiver of this requirement, but such cases must present evidence of superior verbal skills. All such waivers are at the discretion of the STAC Coordinator or the STAC Advisors.

* Students can place out of ENGL 1101 with:

• a score of 4 or higher on the AP "Composition and Literature" or "Language and Composition" test
OR
• a score of 4 or higher on the International Baccalaureate English test
OR
• a score of 750 or higher on the SAT II English test
