ASSISTANTSHIPS

As a graduate assistant, an M.S. student generally works 14 hours a week (1/3 time) and earns a stipend of $1200 per month. Graduate assistantships provide a waiver of most tuition, along with a monthly stipend that varies with the student`s academic home department (School of Literature, Communication and Culture (LCC), Computing, or Psychology). However, students are required to pay all Georgia Tech student fees.

Students working as graduate assistants must register with the Georgia Tech Payroll department as university employees. As such, graduate assistants are paid once per month beginning with the first month of employment.

The School of Literature, Communication and Culture offers a limited number of graduate research and teaching assistantships. Additional graduate assistantships may be available in association with other schools or projects at Georgia Tech.
