CULTURAL PROGRAMS

The School of Literature, Communication and Culture supports a variety of cultural programs to enrich, expand, and enhance the cultural climate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and the community through the ongoing presentation of intellectually and aesthetically challenging programs.

Poetry at Tech has introduced and will continue to introduce the finest names in poetry to Atlanta from within Georgia, all over the United States, and abroad, reaching well beyond the traditional notion of what a poem is and well beyond the expected audience for poetry. Poetry at Tech also offers poetry classes on campus, by the nationally acclaimed poet and faculty, Thomas Lux.

Cinema Tech regularly holds movie events that are open to the general public. Italian Film Studies program aims to sharpen students` knowledge of film history, theory and fundamentals of documentary filmmaking. Cinema Tech also enriches the Georgia Tech community via academic study of film, publications, lectures, and filmmaking initiatives.

DramaTech is the student run theater at Georgia Tech. DramaTech`s goal is to further the presence of performing arts on campus, as well as in the surrounding city of Atlanta. Founded in 1947, DramaTech is the oldest continuously running theater in Atlanta.
